This page explains what data Taskyard collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

  • We collect the minimum data needed to run the platform and keep it secure.
  • Contract/workspace content (messages, files, deliverables) is visible to the parties involved in that contract.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe (we don’t store full card numbers).

1. Information we collect

  • Account data: email, name, role (client/creator), and profile details you provide.
  • Usage data: pages visited, actions taken, and basic device/browser information.
  • Payment data: payments are processed by Stripe. Taskyard does not store full card numbers.
  • Content: messages, files, and task details you submit as part of a contract/workspace.
  • Support communications: if you contact us, we may store your message and the related context needed to help you.

2. How we use information

  • Provide and operate the platform (workspaces, workflows) and payment protection flows.
  • Authenticate users and keep accounts secure.
  • Process payments, handle disputes, and prevent fraud.
  • Improve product features, reliability, and customer support.
  • Communicate with you about your account, contracts, and important platform updates.

3. Sharing

Taskyard is a two-sided platform. Some information is shared by design so the service can work.

  • Between contract parties: when you start a contract, the other party can see the information and content required to deliver and review the work (e.g. brief, messages, attachments, deliverables).
  • Service providers: we use vendors to run Taskyard (e.g. hosting, storage, email, monitoring, payments). These vendors process data on our behalf to provide the service.
  • Legal & safety: we may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect users and the platform.

We don’t sell your personal data.

4. Payments (Stripe)

Payments are handled by Stripe. Depending on your usage, Stripe may act as the processor of your payment method and billing data. Taskyard receives limited payment metadata (for example: status, amounts, currency, and identifiers) so we can operate payment protection, payouts, refunds, and dispute handling.

5. Data retention

We keep personal data as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Retention may vary by data type (e.g. contracts, invoices, and support records).

6. Security

We use industry-standard security controls and work with reputable providers. No system is 100% secure—please use strong passwords and keep your account credentials safe.

  • Data requests: you can request access, correction, or deletion of certain personal data by contacting us.
